How to add one or multiple closing messages
After respondents completed your form, you can show them a closing message. But it's also possible to have multiple endings, based on the answers given by your respondents. So you can even add closing messages for each different ending of your form.
Common closing message
We'll first have a look on how to edit the common end of a form. To enable a closing message, open your form inside the form builder. Each form always has one possible ending of the form, represented by the red bubble with a
icon at the bottom of the form. By clicking that bubble the pane to add/edit the closing message opens up.
Edit your common closing message
The closing message consists of some features that you can enable, just the way you like/need it. You can see those features on the left of the closing message pane. The following features are available:
- Text - Enable the
Textfeature to supply a title to the closing message.
- Description - Enable the
Descriptionfeature to supply a description to the closing message.
- Image - Enable the
Imagefeature to add an image to the closing message. The image must be hosted somewhere else so you can supply the URL to the image;
- Video - Enable the
Videofeature to add a video to the closing message. We support YouTube and Vimeo videos. All you have to do is copy-paste the URL of the video from YouTube/Vimeo and the video will be embedded;
- Button - Enable the
Buttonfeature to add a button to the closing message, with the following options:
- Label - The text label shown inside the button;
- URL - The URL to open, including
- Open in - Determine if the URL should be opened in the same browser window (form gets closed) or a new browser window (form stays opened in original browser window).
- Repeatability - Enable the
Repeatabilityfeature to determine if a form that is completed can be started over again immediately after completion;
- Redirect - Enable the
Redirectfeature to automatically redirect your respondents to an external URL on completion. All of the above features will be disabled when the redirect is enabled. More information on redirecting after completion can be found in this article.
It depends on the selected form face how the closing message gets presented and behaves.
Piping values in URL's
Of course piping logic is available in the text fields of the closing message. But in the closing messages these piping values are also available in the URL fields (Button and Redirect), using the
And on top of that, there is an extra piping value available: the
Identification number. This is the unique identification number of each entry by which you can identify/track a certain entry on the URL that's opened.
Multiple closing messages
The fun part of Tripetto is of course it's super easy to create smart forms that can react to the answers your respondents have given. Closing messages also can benefit from that.
Default branch end
In the form builder you create branches for each decision the form has to make. For each branch you can determine what should happen at the end of that branch. At the end of each new branch you'll see a green bubble with a
icon. That indicates the default behavior of that branch end, namely: continue to the upcoming flow/question.
Enable custom closing message for branch end
You can change the behavior of each branch end by clicking the green bubble with a
icon at the end of the desired branch. You can then choose from two options to end the form:
- Jump to end - Jump to the end of the form and show the common closing message that's entered at the very end of the form. If you select this option the green end bubble will change into a red bubble with a
- End with closing message - Finish the form, but show a custom closing message for respondents that completed the form in this branch. If you select this option the green end bubble will change into a red bubble with a
icon. Now you can enter a custom closing message for this particular branch end, so you can customize the closing message to the answers they have given in your form.
The custom closing message is fully flexible for all branch ends. So you can add as much custom closing messages as you need, based on your own form structure.
